A notebook that has really cheered up my afternoon! The cover is so soft, pages have a good weight and really nicely bound. The little red dragonflies on the page edge is such a pretty design and with a lovely colour scheme. This is the second item I've had from this company.
The design is gorgeous. The beautiful endpapers really lend a sense of elegance. The cover is soft and flexible and sturdy. The notebook lies flat when opened which is nice, and if you wanted you can also fold it in half for easier note taking. I appreciate the numbered pages and the index in the front. Overall I think the quality is quite nice and it seems to have been designed quite thoughtfully
The ZenArt journal is exactly what I was hoping for in creating zentangle art. I love the fact it has a Z on the cover. The feel of the faux leather is wonderful and enhances the quality IMO. The dragonfly details on the end pages and page edges are a nice touch, too. This feels like a substantial and quality journal.

Frequently Asked Questions
A dotted journal is suitable for bullet journaling – a method of personal organization developed by Ryder Carroll. The method organizes schedules, to-do lists, significant events, milestones and other organizational tasks in a single journal.
However, our dotted journal is designed in an open-minded way, to allow you to choose which system to use (or not). Having four index pages and numbers on each page, continuous lines of dots across the pages, you can express yourself creatively.
Good question! Our Modernista series dotted journals are pure joy for your aesthetical and organizing buds. They are all designed by our co-founder Ardak Kassenova, and are very unique. The traditional Japanese design on the edges and end-papers, unique for each journal color-variation, has a positive meaning, and is a metaphor and our good wish to you.

Love this journal! Thick paper, great size. Using it daily.
My first dot journal, so I'm still learning how to use it -- and I'm pretty sure I already like it better than ruled journals because there's more freedom for creativity and organizing. The paper is a bit thin depending on what kind of pen you're using, but it's a beautiful journal and I love the zesty lime color. I also like the index pages at the beginning -- that also helps with organization. I'll definitely buy another.
Beautiful notebook. Currently using this for my notes on my Master's thesis. I especially love the ribbon bookmarks, it's flexibility, and the pockets! Such a gorgeous journal.
I absolutely love my Zenart journal. I almost screamed when I saw the decorative edge! I will definitely be checking out more products!

This is my second zen art journal purchase. Theyre a great size, not too small but smaller than A4. The dots help with positioning and the inside covers are beautiful.
I was picking this one bc I liked the design on the page edges and the price. I had been searching forever to find the perfect daily journal for me. So I figured I would make the jump and attempt bullet journaling. When it arrived it was bigger in size then I had expected and I'm very thankful for that. It's not super big or too small. I was also grateful for the colors it's beautiful in person and it has a back pocket which is cool.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Zen Art Supplies Modernista Bullet journal is well made and very durable. The cover is pretty, soft and easy to clean if dust or drink got on it. The pages are smooth and can take quite a lot of ink as demonstrated. If you apply enough ink to the paper, it will tear. I wouldn't recommend this journal for heavy art projects that require various types of media unless you've thoroughly tested first, other-wise, this is great for drafts, doodles and lists. This journal performs how I'd expect a more expensive journal should. The paper is much higher quality and the pages are numbered with minimal distraction from what you're trying to achieve. I can switch between pages easily and find my spot with the two ribbon bookmarks included. This journal is designed beautifully and very well. It's similar to the composition books I had in my earlier years of school but a lot nicer. The Japanese 'Tsuru' crane design is gorgeous and fits the overall aesthetic of the Modernista series. My only peeve is that the only lined pages are index pages (4) total. This isn't a big issue if you're not picky about whether or not your journal has lines, but for those who like the more traditional style, you might want to consider looking at alternatives. The packaging was simple, nothing fancy. It came in a standard shipping bag covered in a thin plastic bag and sealed from protective elements. It was clean, simple and easy to open. Overall I give the Modernista Series Bullet Journal by Zen Art Supplies a 5/5. It's pretty to look at, durable, travel friendly and worth the price.
Love these for bullet journals, use every day for keeping up. Great features
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This is my first bullet journal and I'm very pleased with it! I thought the size wasn't too big or too small at all. It fits in my bag and it's light enough to not add additional weight. The Zesty Lime with the purple cranes is a great design choice and pleasing to the eyes since green and purple are secondary complimentary colors. It arrived sealed in plastic which I thought was simple, but there's nothing wrong with that. I tested the pages out with microns, sharpie, graphite and markers, with only sharpie bleeding through heavily. To be fair, the journal isn't advertised to have thick pages so I would avoid using wet materials. Personally, I don't mind the bleeding since I'll be writing over the back anyways! The dots are easy to see and aren't too dark to be overpowering. There's a back pocket with two sheets of stickers, a thank you note from the co-founder, and where to find the brand on social media for help or suggestions! I recommend including a small ruler that would fit in the pocket since I found that to be my second most used tool. It'd be nice to have a ruler on the go! Over all, this bullet journal is great for beginners like me. The journal has a cute design, it's easy to carry, and has plenty of pages with two bookmark ribbons.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video.
