I've really enjoyed this sketchbook over the last few months. I've been using it for line drawings and Zentangles as the thickness and smoothness of the paper lends itself nicely to that task. I love the cover material much more than a traditional leather or paper cover, it's sturdy and wipes off easily. The sheets are thick enough, but a bit thicker like 165gsm would be nice too.
I took an art class in college a long time ago and loved it. Now, I am 50 and want to start playing around with art again. I was looking for a smaller sketchbook. It's perfect! The softcover is quite flexible and durable, not to mention attractive. I find I don't mind that it's not a hardcover. This is comfortable to sketch in, and portable enough to take with me on travels. The best part is the quality of the paper! Just wow! Great value!
Have been using this sketchbook for 7 months now. As an artist, I go through lots and lots of journals- paint in them, sketch, glue photos, etc. This journal is so so durable and great for the price, protects all my pages and the quality of paper is great...will be purchasing again :)

Frequently Asked Questions
Good question! Our sketchbooks are designed by artists for artists. Each sketchbook is meticulously handcrafted using recyclable materials, folded, hand-stitched, and glued together to form a hard-wearing notebook with a scratch-resistant wipeable cover and 180° lay-flat spine that stays open so you can work at ease. You can customize the cover and inner end-pages using acrylic paint or markers. The stylish design with the edge printing is very attractive and can be used as is or colored with your watercolors to create a unique pattern. There's a maximum possibility to express yourself with this neutral stylish design.
Our smooth 120 gsm acid-free paper is of archival quality and can withstand lots of sketching, erasing, sticking and re-attaching with sellotape or washi tape. Each sketchbook has 160 pages or 80 sheets of blank light ivory paper that is kind to your eyes, and won't reflect light to your eyes in the way ordinary white paper might.
Acid-free means that the pH level of the paper is 7.0 (neutral) or higher (alkaline). In general, acid-free papers are expected to last for decades under normal storage conditions. Don't worry; it's still biodegradable.
Our sketchbooks are encased in a durable engineered leather cover that is scratch-resistant, protecting your work from elements. You can easily customize the cover using acrylic paint or markers and make it truly your own.
It depends on your needs. If you plan on bringing the sketchbook around, while travelling, during the daily commute or to capture urban scenes on the go then opt for a B6 (5x7 inches) that you can easily fit in your purse. If you intend to work on a table at home or in your studio where you can sketch with your sketchbook laid flat, or if you tend to create bigger artwork, then we recommend you get a B5 (7x10 inches).
However, most of our customers find B5 very compact and ‘just right' size for carrying it around, too.
Our sketchbooks are perfect for sketching, art journaling and keeping your creative ideas & notes! The acid-free paper is durable enough for light watercolours, ink, markers, glue and sticky tapes for collages, rough erasing and shading. Your options are endless. Superb quality, keeps the vibrancy of watercolour, allows for multiple glazing, just wish it was a little bit cheaper than originally priced.
Forgiving watercolor paper, love the texture and final look.
I recently purchased the 12x12 watercolor block and I was blown away!! It's awesome 100% cotton watercolor paper, I tested my paints on this paper and thought the texture is different it absolutely worked just like the really expensive paper. Great value for money. Excellent quality!
This watercolor paper is great: it has a nice texture, not to rough, but very homogenous. Sizing seems to be good, but I still have to test it for more features. It worked very nice with handmade watercolors. The paper has good texture and it seems excellent for cards and small projects. Thank you!
Good value, block works well, very nice paper.
I'm a professional artist and I typically work with Arches cold pressed and this paper gives it a run for the money. I have purchased 3 of these pads and one 8x8 pad to stockpile my stash. I'm in LOVE!!! I scrubbed, I lifted, I did wet washes and it held up like a champ. I HIGHLY recommend it!
I could tell right away once I began to paint on this paper that it was definitely 100% cotton. I absolutely love how my brush glided across the paper almost as if it was hot pressed. It also stood up to a nice amount of water without warping. I'd also like to mention that there was absolutely no lifting what so ever, which again was key in letting me know that its real 100% cotton paper. I ended up testing three different types of paint, I was very pleased to see that the pigment dried perfectly leaving little to no white space left on the paper. My only complaint about this watercolor pad is the packaging. Unfortunately it arrived mildly damaged, I suggest shipping it in something sturdier than plastic covering. Overall I appreciate the square shape and size of the pad. I look forward to using it for more elaborate pieces, and maybe in the future there will be a spiral bound version of this watercolor pad.
I really like this paper, it's very affordable. Feels more like somewhere between hot and coldpressed, kinda feels a lot like the Legion cold press paper. Will repurchase!
